How to play

Controls: Left-click or tap a cell to reveal it, and right-click, Shift+click, or long-press to place a mine flag. Click a revealed number to chord when the right flag count surrounds it. Use the arrow keys plus Space (reveal) or F (flag) if you prefer the keyboard.

Pick a difficulty — Beginner 9×9, Intermediate 16×16, or Expert 30×16 — to start a freshly shuffled minefield.
Left-click (or tap) a cell to reveal what it hides: a number means that many mines touch it, an empty cell auto-expands its whole region.
Right-click, Shift+click, or long-press a cell to flag it as a mine — flagged cells can never be revealed by accident.
When a revealed number has exactly that many flags around it, click it to chord and peel open the remaining neighbours in one move.
Your first click is always safe — the minefield is generated around it, just like the classic game.
Reveal every safe cell without hitting a mine to win; fastest clears are saved per difficulty.

How do I play Minesweeper?

What does the number in a cell mean?

It tells you exactly how many mines are in the eight cells surrounding it. Use those counts to work out which neighbouring cells are safe and which hide a bomb.
